Our Story: How Bob the Mover Started in St. Catharines

While our founder Bob Hanna was attending Brock University for computer science, he worked a part-time job at a local moving company. Here he built his passion for the physical challenge, and mental logistics difficulty of moving homes, while also enjoying meeting new people and experiencing new environments daily.

Once Bob finished his degree and worked in the tech industry for a few years, he decided he needed a change and pursued starting his own moving company. Bob the Mover Inc., was eventually created in 2018.

Our founder’s goal was to create a St Catharines moving company that strives for reliability, strong customer service, transparent fees, and overall care.

As a result, we are a proud member of the Canadian Association of Movers (CAM). To become a member of CAM you must meet strict requirements including proof of insurance and being an experienced and established moving company. Bob The Mover must follow CAM’s code of ethics and standards. This helps us maintain a company that is reliable, professional, and fully insured.

November 19th, 2022 - the day of my move from my home in Niagara Falls to my new home in Thorold, we found ourselves in a foot of snow with more on the way, high winds and extreme cold!! The four young men arrived on time and were ready for the hard work of loading and carefully taking my furniture onto their truck. (Using moving blankets and strapping, mindful of not damaging the flooring and walls and my furniture) Arrived at my new address in a timely manner and again taking care moving all furniture and setting up beds and other furniture requiring set up! One piece, a large leather couch required 2 men to carefully maneuver through a narrow doorway at the bottom of the stairs into the family room needing at least a half hour of time without damage to walls, ceiling, doorway, flooring or furniture! Remarkable young men. I’d highly recommend “Bob The Mover” for your next move!
